An Ijazah isn’t a certificate you study for and print at the end. It’s a link in a chain — a documented line of teacher-to-student recitation, each person having recited the entire Quran to the one before, stretching back to the Prophet ﷺ.
That connected chain (sanad muttasil) is the whole point: it means the way you recite was heard, corrected, and formally authorized by someone who was themselves authorized. Track 1 — Ijazah in the Ten Qiraat
The most comprehensive certification, encompassing all ten recognized recitation styles and confirming that you have mastered each unique mode of recitation as it was preserved and passed down.

Requirements
- Complete memorization of the Quran.

- Mastery of the essential texts — Matn Ash-Shatibiyyah (the rules of the seven foundational recitations), Matn Al-Jazariyyah (advanced Tajweed), and Matn Tuhfat Al-Atfal (the basics of Tajweed).

Track 3 — Ijazah in a Single Recitation (Riwayah)
The most accessible entry into the world of Ijazah: certification in one narration, recited to perfection. You can earn it in Hafs 'an 'Asim — the reading used by most of the Muslim world — or in any other recognized narration, from Warsh and Qalun to Ad-Duri, As-Susi, and the rest of the transmitters of the ten. It's the natural first step before advancing to the Seven or the Ten.
Available in two forms
- Ijazah in Tilawah (recitation): recite the entire Quran to your sheikh from the Mus'haf, with flawless Tajweed — full memorization is not required.
- Ijazah in Hifz (memorization): recite the entire Quran to your sheikh from memory, in your chosen narration.
Requirements
- Recitation of the whole Quran to a certified sheikh in your chosen narration, with precise Tajweed and no errors — from the Mus'haf or from memory, according to the form you choose.
- Mastery of the core Tajweed texts — Matn Tuhfat Al-Atfal (the basics) and Matn Al-Jazariyyah (the advanced rules).
- A final assessment reciting the full Quran before the certified instructor.

How long does an Ijazah take to earn?
It depends on your memorization strength, Tajweed, the track you choose, and your weekly recitation usually many months, and for the full qiraat often longer. Your sheikh gives a realistic estimate after the assessment.
Can I really earn an online Quran Ijazah, or must it be in person?
Yes, an Ijazah is granted by reciting to a sheikh who holds the chain, and that transmission works over live video exactly as it does in person. The sanad and the certificate are identical.
Do I need to have memorized the whole Quran first?
It depends on the path. For a single-narration Ijazah in Tilawah, no — you recite the whole Quran to your sheikh from the Mus'haf. Full memorization (Hifz) is required for the Ijazah in Hifz and for the Seven and Ten Qiraat certifications.
Do you have female tutors for sisters?

What's the difference between the Seven and Ten Qiraat Ijazah?
