By Allah’s command, the basket was found by Pharaoh’s wife, who convinced Pharaoh to raise the child as their own.
And We inspired the mother of Musa (Moses), (saying): “Suckle him [Musa (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily! We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers”
Thus, Musa grew up in the palace of Pharaoh, despite the king’s decree. This part of the story shows Allah’s protection and the power of His plans, reminding children that even in times of danger, Allah’s wisdom prevails.
Escape to Midian
As Musa grew older, he became aware of the suffering of his people, the Israelites, who were enslaved by Pharaoh. One day, Musa intervened in a fight between an Israelite and an Egyptian, unintentionally killing the Egyptian. Fearing for his life, Musa escape to Midian, where he sought refuge. In Midian, he helped a family by drawing water for their flocks, and in return, he was given shelter and later married one of the daughters of the family’s leader. This phase of Musa’s life emphasizes the importance of seeking justice and helping others, even when facing personal difficulties.
The Call to Prophethood
While in Midian, Musa received a divine call. One day, while traveling with his family, Musa saw a fire on Mount Sinai. As he approached it, Allah spoke to him and revealed his mission: to return to Egypt and lead the Israelites out of their bondage. Allah granted Musa miraculous signs, such as turning his staff into a snake and making his hand glow, to prove his prophethood and strengthen his resolve.
And We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): “Throw your stick,” and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they showed.
Despite his initial hesitation and fear, Musa accepted Allah’s command, placing his full trust in Him. For children, this teaches the importance of accepting responsibility and having faith in Allah’s plan, even when the path ahead seems daunting.
Musa Confrontation with Pharaoh
