Ten Qirat Online Course

About This Course

Our Ten Qirat Online Course takes you beyond the single Hafs reading most of us grew up with, into all ten authentic, mutawatir recitations — each taught with its rules, its narrators, and a path toward Ijazah with an unbroken chain back to the Prophet ﷺ.

  • Ijazah-certified Qira’at scholars
    • All ten readings
    • Male & female teachers available

    Why This Course

Almost every English-speaking Muslim recites in a single narration—Hafs ‘an ‘Asim—and quietly assumes that’s simply “the” Quran.
The ten Qirat open the rest of what was preserved: authentic, mass-transmitted (mutawatir) readings that aren’t competing versions but the fuller record of how the Quran was revealed and passed down.
Learning them isn’t about novelty—it’s about connecting to that transmission through a real, connected chain (sanad) of teachers reaching back to the Prophet ﷺ and understanding why two readings can differ in a letter or a vowel and both be the word of Allah.

    • Recite confidently in each of the ten readings not only Hafs with the specific rules and narrations (riwayat) like Warsh and Qalun that distinguish them.
    • Understand why authentic readings differ at the level of principle (Usul) and individual words (Farsh) and why that difference is preserved transmission, not error.
    • Work toward a formal Ijazah with a connected chain (sanad), qualifying you to recite with authority and, if you wish, to teach.

Course Content

Level 1 — Beginner: Foundations of Qirat

Overview
The basics of qirat—essential pronunciation and rhythm—including an introductory section on Arabic sounds for those who need it.
Focus
Core recitation skills, proper articulation, and a foundational understanding of qirat styles like Nafi' and Ibn Kathir.
Goal
A solid foundation in qirat, ready to progress with confidence.

Level 2 — Intermediate: Deepening Knowledge

Overview
Builds on the foundations, improving fluency and accuracy across additional qirat styles.
Focus
Developing rhythm and pronunciation in intermediate qirat such as Abu 'Amr and Al-Kisai. Goal
Confidence and precision, and a deeper connection to each recitation style.

Level 3 — Advanced: Mastery of All Ten Qirat

Overview
Covers all ten qirat in detail—mastering pronunciation, rhythm, and the distinct characteristics of each style.
Focus
Full proficiency in each qirat, with advanced recitation skills and attention to nuanced differences.
Texts
Grounded in the classical works of the science — Al-Shatibiyyah (the seven readings) and Al-Durrah (the three that complete the ten) for the smaller route, progressing to Tayyibat al-Nashr for the wider paths of all ten.
Goal
Readiness for public recitation, teaching, or personal mastery.

Timelines here are genuinely hard to pin down—qirat depends heavily on your starting level, your daily practice, and how many readings you take on—but as a realistic minimum, the full course takes around six months and often longer.
Because the right entry point depends on your current Tajweed and recitation, a short assessment during the free trial places you at the level that fits and gives you a personalized estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the meaning of qirat in Islam?

Qirat refers to the different authentic styles of reciting the Quran, each with unique pronunciation and rhythm, passed down through reliable scholarly chains connected to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

How can I learn qirat of Quran online?

Our online qirat course offers live classes with skilled tutors, guiding you through each qirat style with individualized support and detailed instruction.

Are classes live or recorded?

All classes are live, allowing for real-time interaction, immediate feedback, and personal guidance from instructors.

Do you offer a trial class?

Yes, we provide a trial class so students can experience our teaching approach and decide if it’s the right fit.

Are these qirat classes online effective, or do I need an in-person sheikh?

Live one-on-one qirat classes online let the sheikh hear every letter and correct on the spot—the same oral transmission as in person, just over video, with screen-shared text and audio tools.

Do I need to have memorized the Quran first?

It helps, but it isn't required for the early levels—the course starts from foundations and supports those newer to Arabic phonetics. A full Ijazah in a reading typically involves reciting a complete khatmah to your sheikh.

Do you have female tutors for sisters?

Yes,a qualified female tutor is available on request for sisters and female students, in a comfortable, respectful setting. Just mention it when you book your trial.

What's the difference between Tajweed and Qirat?

Tajweed is the set of rules for pronouncing a single reading correctly; Qirat are the different authentic readings themselves, each with its own rules and narrators. You apply Tajweed within whichever qira'ah you're reciting.

Can I really earn an Ijazah online?

Yes, by reciting to a certified sheikh who holds a connected chain of narration. The certification is the same; only the medium is online.

How long does it take to master all ten?

Honestly, it's hard to estimate precisely—it depends on your starting level, your daily practice, and how many readings you take on. As a realistic minimum, expect around six months for the full course, and often longer. You'll get a personalized estimate after your trial.
